SCOPE
A chemical manufacturing facility was closing a pond on their property, and the pond required remediation before it was filled in. They needed a contractor with the expertise and heavy equipment to clean and restore the site.
solution
Hulcher Resources was selected to perform this project through a competitive bidding process, and deployed a dozer, excavator, backhoe and compactor to complete the work.
Hulcher’s crews stabilized the pond bottom using fly ash and cement kiln dust to bind the matrix, placed and regraded the site fill material and brought in sand and clay to fill the pond.
Part of the project included the construction and installation of a treatment amendment delivery system to inject treatment chemicals into the bottom of the cell. Hulcher also managed the reconstruction of a drainage sewer and outfall.
Hulcher completed the project by placing topsoil and seeding the area for grass.

outcome
Over a two-month period Hulcher transformed a closed pond that was an eyesore into an attractive, open space that added visual appeal to the property. Hulcher’s environmental professionals led this project from start to finish, and their expertise resulted in a properly remediated space with all the necessary drainage to keep it functional and aesthetically pleasing for years to come.
* Analysis, containment, treatment, transport, and disposal of material are each conducted in full compliance with relevant federal and applicable state laws/regulations (licensing, permitting, procedural and operational protocol) which sometimes requires the participation of fellow contractors engaged by the customer and/or Hulcher subcontractors.

A five-acre property had previously been used as a salvage yard where battery and metal recycling took place. The property owner needed a contractor to excavate and remediate the contaminated soil at this site
A 500-foot stretch of track at the railyard was contaminated with soda ash. The affected track surrounded a switch on one of three active and busy lines in that immediate part of the railyard; proper safety procedures and close coordination with the yard traffic managers were essential.
